Prior to a discussion of regular agenda items, two candidates for Seat 5 on the Tallahassee City Commission, Shelby Green and Adner Marcelin, introduced themselves, explained why they were running, and took questions from those in attendance on various topics. (The third candidate for the seat, Dianne Williams-Cox, did not respond to an invitation to appear.) Agenda Item 2, Midtown Working Group. John reported that the Group, at its meeting on March 7th, heard a presentation from Randie, representing the LPNA, and that the report had the support of several other neighborhoods. John stated that the Group is moving ahead to get the parameters for the master plan finalized. Agenda Item 3, Grant Money for Neighborhood Projects. No report. Agenda Item 4, Update on Activities of Alliance of Tallahassee Neighborhoods. Kathy urged everyone to attend the upcoming community meeting about the development of Northwood Centre, to be held at the Sr Center on Tuesday, March 29, from 6-7:30 pm. The city reports it has used the input it has received to date from the public to develop some preliminary sketches of how the property could be developed. This is an opportunity to share thoughts and continue to shape what happens to the property. The ATN submitted a proposal for the use of the property and asked the City Commission to help maximize use of it by taking three actions: 1. Retain the property for the community (don't sell it) 2. Develop a master plan for the site as a whole, rather than piece-mealing it 3. Hire a recognized expert in public-oriented, community development master planning to work with Tallahassee-Leon County planning staff on the site master plan. Treasurer's Report: No report, waiting on figures. Committee Reports: No reports. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
